BPGlobal Safety General Services Outline

BPGlobalSafety is a full service production safety and risk management consultancy firm with over 20 years experience in the Film and Television industry. Experience includes stunts, stunt coordination, safety rigging, firefighting, certified paramedic training, and medical technical advisory on set.

BPGlobalSafety promotes a safe work environment on film and television productions. We liaise with Department Heads and Production Managers to: review and address risk and hazard assessments to ensure that health and safety issues are addressed, assist and guide the development and administration of the production’s health and safety programs, conduct stage and location inspections to assess, identify and address hazards and unsafe working conditions/acts and follow up with film production crew on health and safety issues.

BPGlobalSafety is committed to clear communication both on and off set. We report to Studios and Production Executives on the production’s health and safety activities and compliance to workplace health and safety regulations. BPGlobalSafety is a globally insured company. We customize programs to meet your needs.

Pre-Production:

Safety Inspections:

  • Construction Mill visit to ensure personal protective equipment available and worn during construction phase and wrap
  • Stage walk-through during construction and filming to ensure fire lane and general housekeeping compliance
  • Set visit to ensure adherence to safety practices and protocols of studio’s Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP) as well as compliance with local safety bylaws

During Production:

Tech Surveys:

  • Attend tech surveys to determine when BPGlobalSafety Representative is required for each episode
  • Work collaboratively with each department head to identify possible safety issues for each department and location
  • Prepare safety plans to minimize interruption during shooting

Safety Meetings:

  • Conduct Safety orientation during initial Production Meeting to address the IIPP
  • Meet with individual Department Heads to review the IIPP including a detailed review of the rights and responsibilities of all workers in compliance with the Workers Compensation Act
  • Obtain sign-off from Department Heads / Supervisors in acknowledgment of their completion of safety orientation and commitment to their duties and responsibilities as safety representatives 

On-Set Schedule:

  • Develop on-set schedule based on script production requirements, shooting schedule, and tech survey to determine when a BPGlobalSafety Representative is needed on-set (upon approval of Producer / Production Manager)
  • On-set schedules will be adjusted to meet shooting and production changes

On-Call Services:

  • Safety presence as required on-set
  • Manage emergency safety issues as they arise
  • Address anonymous safety related calls and issues

Additional Services:

  • Assist with the development of an emergency response plan
  • Oversee Occupational Health and Safety Guidelines for specific work sites
  • Provide accident investigation and leadership with report completion
  • Review Injury reports and Accident Investigation forms before submission to Regulatory Bodies
  • Provide workplace orientation and documentation
  • Provide Joint Health and Safety meetings, tools, and guidelines
  • Assist with the development of written workplace procedures for First Aid
  • Assist with young and new worker orientation
  • Act as liaison between Production and Regulatory Bodies
  • Assist with Regulation order compliance
  • Provide emergency / anonymous contact number for crew safety concerns
